Free Printable Calendar Roundup

It might be totally strange but i really love me a pretty calendar. I spend a LOT of time on Pinterest and the internet searching for the perfect printable calendars. It’s not even like i really use calendars to track my due dates and appointments (i have my trusty moleskin for that) but i just love the way the right calendar can add so much to a room! I haven’t decided which one I’m going to use yet this year but i thought I’d go ahead and share my 10 favorite free calendar printables I rounded up everyone so that everyone can have a crisp new calendar to go back to school with.

1. This calendar is super sweet and i just love the watercolor title. This would probably look cutest on a cork board or a clip board! // This cutie is from cocoandmingo

2. This is the epitome of minimalist chic and I’m just crazy about it. I think i’ll have to find a place for this one somewhere but it probably won’t become my everyday. I would frame each month in an Ikea ribba frame in black and put it on a shelf so i can look but probably not touch. // Navigating from pintrest to this blog has been annoying for me because it takes me to a strange page that i cant get out of, maybe im just mental. Here is a link to the google drive where it’s kept for download, and a link to her fantastic blog, Weekday Carnival

3. Ok so this is like a hybrid between the first two. There’s certainly clean lines and chic feel to it while still having that hand written font. I think i might adopt this one for my every day. I would probably pin this one to a black mat, or a black clip board and hang it. Another option is to print it out at a smaller size (easiest way is to print two copies on one sheet of paper, it scales it down) and place it on a black matt inside a small frame to place on my desk so i can write on it like a dry erase board. // This one is from a pair & a spare

4. What i love about this set is that each month is an entirely new design to love! I would just pin this to my wall or cork board. It’s got a quirky cute feel I can’t wait until i can find a place to put it! // Found on oh the lovely things

5. I love this one because it looks like something i would love to display in my kitchen and reminds me of gardening 🙂 maybe I’m just a freak.. You’ll have to check monthly for each new design. // From terrain

6. This parisian themed calendar might be in french but that just adds to the charm in my opinion, and no i do not speak french. I love the cute feel of the designs and the notes section at the bottom! // This if from the french blog zu

7. I kind of love that this calendar is broken up into two different colored six month intervals. The woman who designed it also shows the best way to display it on her blog! total girl crush right now! // This can be found on my scandinavian home

8. The drawings on each month are so charming how do you not want this calendar? I printed this one out as well and put it by our entry way because it just says home to me and thats exactly what i like to feel when i get home after a stressful day. // You can find this adorable calendar on shhh my darling, and make sure you check back each month for a new one!

9. This crazy print is fun and quirky in the best ways. I love me a monthly calendar but i also love yearly. they help me keep track of how many days left until summer 🙂 // This calendar comes in three color schemes from love vs. design

Any other great printable calendars out there? Let me know, i’m never tired of them!

New Year New You

I’m only officially starting my new year today, soo Happy New Year!! [insert confetti and champagne pops here] Why so late on my entry to the new year you ask? Well I spent my New Year’s Eve at my beau’s family’s house, and let me tell you, Puerto Ricans can party. I’ve learned that my friend Andre’ is a backstabbing jerk and he took away my January first new-year-freshness (andre is a cheap champagne not a terrible person). I also wasn’t sure what i wanted to make my resolution and i was so busy i had no time to figure it out. Then i had a ton of random things to do and it was a pretty poopie beginning of a new year, so, today it is!

As usual everyone’s making their fancy resolutions that it’s likely they’ll never see through the first week let alone an entire year (I bet you guiltily looked away from the screen) Well this year I’ve decided on two things that are particularly important about my New Year.

1. GOALS people not resolutions.
2. Being my best self is not going to be accomplished by only losing weight or only saving money.

A resolution, by definition, is a solution to a problem. This is impractical because to say i want to lose weight, my resolution is to drop five pounds, when in fact the resolution or “solution” to being overweight would be to eat healthier and workout instead of just saying I want to lose weight now! Instead we should be setting goals, which is something to work towards changing and break them down into resolutions. I was reading another blog in the wee hours of the morning and came across the author pointing out the difference between goals and resolutions and it struck me, that’s brilliant! [however i found it via stumble upon and by morning had no idea what it was called so i cannot link in that article, sorry..]
The other important epiphany I had was that to be my best self in the new year i have to aspire to reach well-rounded goals! Like most people it can be really easy to say “I’m going to lose weight, save money, and move out this year!” then forget about one or all of them and go back to normal life because let’s be honest that’s a lot to put on your plate on the first day of 365! So this year I have decided that I will make a list of 12 well-rounded goals i want to reach for 2014 (y2k14 for you hoodrats out there) and then split them up amongst the 12 months. This way i can dedicate an entire month to change one habit (after all it takes 21 days for something to become a habit, why not 31 for extra practice?) and then once it’s second nature, or at least almost, I can move on to improve on something else!

So now you must be wondering, ok Jessie we get it you have too much time to think. so what are your resolutions er, goals anyway?
I’ve made a list with each month, followed by each month’s tasks or a routine for me to begin to accomplish my goal!

While each of these might not seem too obvious these are all the goals I came up with before deciding to do it monthly because i couldn’t just pick one and I thought doing them all at once was going to be too hard to maintain. This doesn’t mean I can’t try to incorporate all of these into every day, it just makes it easier to manage. Each month I’ll write a post on each monthly goal, how I’m going to accomplish it, and at the end of each month I’ll recap how it went!

What are your goals for the new year? How do you hope to accomplish them?

Dreams Do Come True

20140108_130851Hello again! I took a short hiatus to enjoy the holidays with my family and friends, and I cannot believe how well my christmas went. Remember that ridiculous list of things i wanted? Well, you’d never believe it but i got a lot of the things on that list! For starters, I have a wonderful beau who surprised me with, wait for it.. the tiffany’s necklace i was dying for! We’re planning a trip to the city to pick it up since it wasn’t in stock anywhere in our area, but I can’t complain because now we get a whole day together out of it! Second my sister, who i gave the wallet i was dying for, got me a longchamp! Cannot wait to use it this week at work! If you remember i was dying over a necklace, but instead i my mom, er santa, put a different one in my stocking from francesca’s. I used to really hate that store because i bought an expensive-ish bag from them and the strap broke a week later in the middle of a crisis [breakdown, emotional breakdown, 5 mile hike, and almost hypothermia at 4am] so needless to say i had negative associations, however this necklace has restored my faith. I also got a pair of Ralph Lauren riding boots, (similar) that i am going to waterproof as soon as this dreary weather clears up! If you remember the Warby Parkers i wanted so badly, i did not in fact get them for Christmas.. Instead i got paid the week after christmas and decided to treat myself because I’m blind and work on computers all day so they were really a necessity.. right?
Because it’s better to give than to receive (and boy did i receive) I also made sure i got my family and beau some awesome gifts! For my father, the new Chrome Cast which I’m going to review I think, and the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. We’re losers and are totally still into that stuff 🙂 For my mother I purchased and will install a new backsplash in our kitchen! For my sisters i got both a Michael Kors wallet, the red one from my last post and a metallic one that i had accused of being gaudy previously but i actually didn’t hate in person. I got my Mister a lot of clothes, and an Xbox One. Most expensive christmas gift purchase ever. I had been saving up since they announced it but still a ton of money to drop. Totally worth it, i honestly do enjoy finding people the perfect gift more than getting gifts myself. I’m a cheese ball..

All in all i had a pretty fantastic Christmas and most of my dreams came true! How about you?
